The Florida Highway Patrol said alcohol may be a factor in a head-on crash that killed a Summerfield man Sunday morning on U.S. 301 in Thonotosassa.

Larry Jame Gray Sillaway, 27, was died when his 2006 Acura TSX collided with a 2000 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Jesus Manuel Ronduelas, troopers said.

Investigators said Ronduelas was heading south in the northbound lane and Sillaway was going north in the northbound lane and when the vehicles crashed.

Sillaway died at the scene.

The wreck occurred about 10 a.m. on U.S. 301 near Stacy Road, troopers said.

According to a highway patrol report, Ronduelas had consumed alcohol.

The report said results of an alcohol test on Sillaway were pending.

Ronduelas, 25, of Tampa, was taken to Florida Hospital with minor injuries.

A passenger in the Acura, Dawn Marie Edgerton, 30, of Zephyrhills, had minor injuries and was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Charges are pending, the report said.
