TAMPA (FOX 13) –
Police say a drunk driver caused a fatal accident in downtown Tampa overnight.
Timothy Wysocki, 25, faces DUI manslaughter charges after allegedly running a light in his Mercedes-Benz and slamming into a Toyota Corolla at Twiggs Street and Meridian Avenue.
A passenger in the Toyota, 64-year-old Bernandine Davis Smith, of Riverview was killed. Police say she was thrown from the vehicle after the impact.
Police took Wysocki to Tampa General Hospital for a forced blood draw, and he was arrested and booked in Orient Road Jail.
